Research note / early exploration

What fair nomination, confidence and removal arrangements (and safeguards against majority overreach) can earn lasting trust?

Power, with care.

Documented thinking

Continuity, while trust remains

Any resident could nominate someone, with examples of their conduct. A seat opens when an elder dies, steps down or is removed for no longer adding value or crossing lines. Continuity while trusted, with periodic confidence, is the direction.

Nomination, succession, removal and confidence procedures remain to be worked out. No fixed terms, retirement age, frequency or voting thresholds have been chosen. Safeguards and future limits on majority power are also open.

Open questions

  1. How can representatives be nominated, challenged and replaced?

  2. What safeguards prevent power concentration and conflicts of interest?
