Research note / early exploration

How would we organize nursery care, sleeve exchanges and organic-waste collection without creating a burden?

Food, from land to kitchen.

Documented thinking

At the kitchen window

Herbs within reach. Removable growing sleeves containing soil and seedlings could sit in a holder outside the window: open it and harvest while cooking. Lettuce, tomatoes and other suitable vegetables are candidates.

A sleeve, not a finished design

A shared nursery would prepare the sleeves. After sprouting, they move to window holders; used soil and roots return to the renewal cycle as sleeves are exchanged as needed.

Open questions

  1. Which tropical crops could work in removable growing sleeves?

  2. How can watering, replacement and soil renewal work without burdensome maintenance?
